A Thankful Table

Updated: May 31, 2022

Anyone that knows me knows that I love to set a beautiful table for holiday dinners with my family. I also love to mix and match patterns to create a non-traditional look. I met the fab ladies behind Hen House Linens at The Say it Southern Retreat in September, and I knew that I just had to use their beautiful linens for my Thanksgiving table this year. My table started with this beautiful Turtledove Ginger & Orange tablecloth. I love the deep orange color, and their matching solid napkins with white piping were the perfect accent.

I love a good mix of linens with paper products-- because let's face it, I do have 3 teenagers in the house. And while I do love pulling out my favorite china, it's nice to throw in some easy paper items that make clean up a bit easier. Lucy Grymes makes the most beautiful paper products that you can use year-round. BTW-- you can use code: JUJU15 for 15% off!

These personalized placemats throw in a nice contrast to my table, and they protect my linen tablecloth from food stains-- easy peasy. AND these paper vase wraps are the coolest little thing I've seen in a while. You can upgrade any boring glass vase by wrapping it in these reusable decorative vase wraps.

I love mixing old with new when I set the table, and it's also a great way to honor my parents. The gold rimmed plate is from my parents' wedding pattern and the polka dot Vietri plate is from my own wedding pattern. The polka dot pattern brings a bit of whimsy to the table.

I have known my girl, Gabbi, of The Preppy Stitch for many years now, and she designs these Ribbon Napkin Twillies-- monogrammed ribbons to give any plain napkin a personalized touch. So clever! I selected a beautiful royal blue ribbon, and it's such a pretty complement to the Hen House napkins.

It's not Thanksgiving without PIE! My go-to is always Southern Baked Pie Company as they ship frozen pies that go right into my freezer. They also make these mini pies that are so great for individual portions.

I try to keep some things easy during the holidays so that I don't get overwhelmed, and letting Southern Baked Pie Company do the heavy lifting with the desserts means less stress for me. Make sure to order ahead for holidays, as they do have cut-off dates to allow for shipping.

AND don't forget their savory pies, too. My whole family loves their chicken pot pies in the winter!

If you are hosting this holiday season, don't let it overwhelm you. Pick the few key items that you can reasonably accomplish, and farm out the rest to family members or tried and true food companies for your mains or desserts. Don't be afraid to mix paper with linen and vintage and modern china-- there are NO rules these days. Pull together a collected look that brings you joy. Come and set the table with me:

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!

XO, JuJu
